On the Titicaca Express 4 Days Tour you will visit the world’s biggest, highest lake. Lake Titicaca is one of Peru’s most famous attractions, so it receives thousands of visitors daily. Its climate is temperate in the areas near the Lake, but cold near the city of Puno. There usually is heavy rainfall during the rainy season which is from December to April. The lake is located in the department of Puno, more specifically on the border of Peru and Bolivia. It is the highest navigable lake in the world and currently occupies the 19th place of the world’s lakes with regard to surface.
Pick-up from the Bus Station (Terminal Terrestre) in Puno and transfer to your hotel; free afternoon. Overnight in Puno.
In the morning after breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel for a 45 minute journey to the Uros floating islands. There, we will visit a community for approximately 40 to 50 minutes, enjoying the flora and fauna of Lake Titicaca. If you like, you can buy some handicraft products from the Uros people as that is the way they sustain themselves. After our visit, we’ll continue our trip to the island Amantani (at approximately 1:00 p.m.). After settling in the houses of some families, we’ll first have lunch and then go sightseeing the island. After our tour, we’ll savor an exquisite dinner and have a chance to dance with the locals. The Amantani people wear their typical costumes and like to offer a dance in honor of their visitors. Finally, we will spend the night in the family houses.
Early in the morning and after breakfast, we’ll departur for the Taquile Island, arriving at approximately 8:00 a.m. We will go sightseeing the island and if you like, you can buy some handicraft products from the place. We’ll have lunch in a tourist restaurant, and depart from the island of Taquile at 1:30 p.m. We’ll arrive at the lacustrine port of Puno at approximately 4:30 p.m. from where you will be transferred to your respective hotel.
After your breakfast at the hotel, you will have some free time to visit the city centre of Puno and at the appointed time, communicated by your guide, you will be picked up from your hotel and we will visit the Chullpas of Sillustani, pre-Inca funerary towers, the highest measuring approximately 12 meters. After our visit to Sillustani, we will drop you off at the airport of Juliaca that is located one hour from Puno.
