During the Titicaca Express 3 Days Tour you will visit the world’s highest lake. Lake Titicaca is a water body of some 8,562 km² located in the department of Puno, more specifically on the border of Peru and Bolivia. It is the highest navigable lake in the world and currently occupies the 19th place of the world’s lakes with regard to its surface.
At 6 a.m. we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to bring you to the Central Bus Station of Cusco. There, your bus to Puno will leave at … It will be a journey of around 7 hours, so you will arrive in Puno at 7 a.m., where our staff will be waiting for you at the Bus Station to transfer you to your hotel. It is a lovely bus ride through the Andean highlands.
At 7:00 a.m. we’ll pick you up from your hotel in the centre of Puno and bring you to the small port. There, we’ll take a motorboat to the Uros Islands, where we’ll stop for about 30 minutes to see how families use the totora (reed) to build their houses, and some other customs, before leaving for Amantani. There are no hotels on the Amantani Islands, but upon arrival our group will be split into smaller groups for overnight stays with local families. It is very beautiful and quiet. There are six villages and ruins on the two peaks of the island, Pacha Tata and Pacha Mama, from where you will have some excellent views to the lake. The residents make beautiful fabrics and sell them quite cheaply. After this, we’ll return home to sleep. The people speak Quechua, but they understand Spanish.

Today, we’ll go to the island of Taquile, which will take about an hour by boat. Upon our arrival, we’ll visit the city of Taquile where there are numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins and terraces. The island is narrow, only about 1 kilometer wide, and 6-7 kilometers long. There is a cooperative shop on the island that sells exceptional woolen goods that are not cheap, but of very good quality. If you like, you will have the opportunity to buy some beautiful hand made fabrics that represent the life on the islands. There is no other place like this in the world. Transfer to your hotel in Puno around 5 p.m.
